Our Newest Homes

Within the borders of Winter Park, we are developing a further 660 acres to build new homes, creating new possibilities for more people to enjoy what we affectionately refer to as “the front porch of the Rockies”.

We could not have been more impressed with Koelbel’s level of expertise and detail leading our home build. The home was built and delivered to us exactly as planned. Every step of our process working with Koelbel Mountain Communities was a success! We had so many options to customize the finishes in our home and their team hit it out of the park delivering on every aspect of the building plans.

I could not be happier with my recently purchased Moosehorn Uphill Cabin. Being here as a full-time resident, quality of construction is of the utmost importance to me, and Koebel hits all the marks with my beautiful cabin! The sales office personnel and construction management at Rendezvous represent the very best at Koebel in my opinion. These teams exhibit consistent professionalism, holding themselves to the highest standards, and always put forth a level of service that reflects the high build standards at Koelbel & Company.

We are extremely pleased with our new home in Rendezvous. The neighborhood allows easy access to hiking and biking trails, Mary’s Pond, the bus system, and is also an easy walk into town. Our building process went so smoothly with the assistance from the sales team. They kept us informed, answered all questions within a timely manner, and were so easy and fun to work with. Our home turned out beautiful, and we have thoroughly been enjoying our time in the mountains!

We have owned 2 homes in Rendezvous. Our experience in the neighborhood has exceeded our expectations. The people in the community are as much of an amenity as the amenities of the community. We purchased a new build in 2022. Our house is amazing and our experience with the Rendezvous sales team and construction team has been great. They continue to be very helpful and attentive. I am encouraging all of our friends to consider a home in Rendezvous.

Cozens ranch

A Rich History

A simple ‘rendezvous’ point that grew to one of America’s #1 mountain destinations.
After a successful career as sheriff, William ’Billy’ Cozens moved with his wife Mary and family to the Fraser Valley in 1874 and took up a position as Postmaster. Subsequently, a small hotel, stage stop, and other buildings were raised shortly thereafter. The stagecoach stop and comforting amenities, plus the strategic location along the west slope of the great continental divide, made the area a major crossroads, or ‘rendezvous’ point, for travelers exploring the west.

Koelbel’s family history in the Fraser Valley dates back to 1915 when Buz Koelbel’s grandfather, Carl Norgren, came to the area. In the 1930’s Carl purchased a beloved camp frequented by his daughter after it fell on hard times, naming it Byers Peak Ranch. Milestones at the ranch include visits from President Eisenhower, President Hoover, and other dignitaries, earning the ranch its nickname, the ‘Western White House’.
